ActivePlatform: Cloud Service Brokerage for Emerging Markets

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Over the last few years, the Cloud Service Brokerage (CSB) market has matured, as a number of participants offer similar capabilities to enterprises and telcos around the world.

ActivePlatform is just such a CSB, offering both on-premises and cloud-based cloud intermediation capabilities, both for enterprises wishing to implement a cloud marketplace internally, as well as managed service providers, resellers, and other channel players who wish to leverage CSB capabilities to provide one-stop cloud shopping to their clients.

However, ActivePlatform’s most important differentiation isn’t its capabilities, but rather the markets it serves. Founded in Belarus, it has gained substantial traction across former Soviet Union countries, and over time, has extended to other emerging markets across Asia and the rest of the world.

Its depth of Russian language support appeals to its core constituency, and its expertise with complex business issues like data sovereignty, local billing customs and regulations, and taxation policies give it an important leg up in regions that larger CSBs are reluctant to invest in.

Now, ActivePlatform is expanding into North America and Western Europe – regions with greater competition in the CSB marketplace than the vendor is accustomed to. It is hopeful, however, that its expertise with the complexities of emerging market business will give it a leg up in the developed world as well.
