Avionos: Disrupting IT Professional Services for the Digital Era

An Intellyx Brain Candy Brief

Despite the level of digital disruption affecting almost every industry, it seems this phenomenon has passed over one industry leaving it almost entirely unscathed: consulting organizations.

Even in the age of digital business, consulting engagements look much the same as they have since the dawn of the management consulting discipline. Digital solutions and services firm Avionos aims to change that. The company helps manufacturers and distributors launch an end-to-end B2B digital channel in only ninety days. But it isn’t just the speed or end-to-end nature of their approach that makes them different.

First, the company takes an outcome-based approach rather than one based on outputs. It structures its engagements around the client’s desired business outcomes, such as revenue growth, cost reductions or new customer acquisitions. In addition, the company realized that most digital transformation efforts do not fail because of the technology, but rather because of a company’s inability to deliver an operational capability from the investment.

Avionos, therefore, delivers a full end-to-end solution that wraps development services around the underlying technology and then uses a co-operational delivery model to ensure that their clients develop the operational capability that they need to realize their desired outcomes. The company’s subscription-based approach is a refreshing departure from traditional consulting engagements and may be a peek at the future of consulting in the digital era.
